Country Profiles

Since the handover of China, Macao has been practicing “one country, two systems”, enjoying social stability, good law and order, and economic prosperity, and as an internationalized city, it is a place where East meets West, and is highly inclusive! Talents coming to Macao for development not only enjoy the same simple tax policy and low tax rate as Macao residents, but the Legal Framework for the Admission of Talents also indicates that tax incentives will be offered to talents.

Project Introduction

Talent admission program

The Legal Framework for the Admission of Talents to Macao came into effect on July 1, which focuses on the needs of the four key industries (big health, modern finance, high-tech, culture and sports), and introduces three categories of talents, namely, high-end talents, outstanding talents and high-level professionals, some of whom are eligible to apply for the renewal of their residence permits, regardless of whether or not they are ordinarily residing in Macao.

High-end Talent Program

This category is open to persons with exceptional talents or technical skills who have achieved internationally recognized outstanding achievements or made significant contributions in specific fields;

Outstanding Talents Program

This program aims at admitting persons with professional experience and technical competence who are conducive to the moderate diversification of the MSAR economy and capable of promoting the development of key industries, and who have outstanding performance in their professions or industries. It mainly targets four industry sectors: health, high technology, modern finance, culture and sports, and others;

Senior Professionals Program

This program aims to bring in people with professional experience and technical ability who can support the development of key industries or fill the shortage of human resources in Macau.
