Project Introduction
Global Investor Program
The Global Business Investor Program (GBIP) provides a pathway to Singapore Permanent Resident status for qualified investors interested in conducting business or investing in Singapore. To be eligible, investors need to have a strong business track record and a successful entrepreneurial background. It is the only one-step PR program in Singapore, bar none.
Three ways to apply:
Option 1:Invest S$10 million (including paid-up capital) to set up a new business entity or invest in a business that is already in operation.
Option 2: Invest S$25 million in a fund designated by the GIP.
Option 3 Invest S$2.5 million to set up a single family office, which must have assets under management of S$200 million. At least S$50 million of this amount must be invested in the four designated categories and must be completed within 12 months from the date of the approval letter.
Single Family Office
A Singapore single family office is a company that provides private wealth management, usually set up by trusted family members themselves, and is responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of the family assets and its various investments, with the aim of preserving and passing on the family’s wealth. In order to incentivize the expansion of the private wealth and fund management sector in Singapore, Singapore has implemented a tax relief scheme for funds managed by fund managers based in Singapore. The scheme will exempt from tax “specified income” derived from “specified investments”.
There are three types of investments available to single family offices:
Offshore Funds Tax Free Scheme 13D: No minimum investment requirement, recommended from S$5 million.
Onshore Funds Tax Free Scheme 13O: S$20 million is required to be invested at the time of application.
Enhanced Fund Tax Free Scheme 13U: specified investment amount of S$50 million is required at the time of application.
